Remote work policies have been a boon for Airbnb, as users look for places to holiday and work at the same time.
Background: Airbnb is the online marketplace holiday rentals and tourism activities. Wanna stay in a cave? Airbnb. Wanna stay in a sterile, 1 bedroom apartment? Also Airbnb.
What happened: In Feb 2021, Airbnb announced a $3.9 billion loss for the previous 3 months. Fast forward 12 months, Airbnb's reported a net income of $55 million. Kaching.
What else: COVID not only forced Airbnb to re-think its model... But also totally changed the way that Airbnb customers use the platform.
💡 More than 80% of employees don't want to return to their physical workspace full time. That means remote or hybrid working models have become the norm.
💡Whether you're remote at your house (WFH) or remote in the Bahamas (WFB), it really shouldn't matter.
💡 So now, Airbnb is being used by workers to find a remote place to holiday AND work, with 20% of bookings on Airbnb made for 28 days or longer. Good news for Airbnb.
