Amazon has acquired a major medical company, so now it will be able to help you find a new doctor AND a new steam mop

Amazon's taking another huge step into the medical world by acquiring One Medical.

👉 Background: Amazon’s been dabbling in the medical field in recent years. They bought an online pharmacy called PillPack back in 2018. Amazon launched its own digital pharmacy the next year.

👉  What happened: Now Amazon’s taking another huuge step into the medical world by acquiring a primary care service called One Medical. The service has more than 180 subscription-based clinics across the US as well as a virtual health service.

 👉 What else: Amazon paid $3.9 billion to buy One Medical... But it's a pretty important milestone form Amazon to broaden its empire.

💡Amazon has expanded its empire into streaming, cloud computing and even groceries when it bought Wholefoods. And now medicine! Basically Amazon's reaching further and further into customers’ lives and it's paying off.

💡 197 million people visit Amazon’s website globally each month - that's more than the population of Russia! And now we can visit Amazon at the doctors office too. Next up: Alexa sensing our heart rate is up and delivering meds to our door?
