Disney's looking for ways to keep fans loyal AND make more moula.
👉Background: OG global entertainment giants Disney have got a heaps of different moving parts these days... We're talkin' movies, TV shows, theme parks, three streaming services and even a housing development business.
👉 What happened: Now this crew is looking for more ways to make money and keep fans loyal. And apparently Disney reckons launching a loyalty program could be the way to go.
👉 What else: We don’t know exactly what a program would look like, but it does look like it could have a lot of potential…
💡Aside from keeping customers loyal, loyalty programs have two more big benefits...
💡Number one: they make people spend more money. Take Ubereats, where one in three orders come from Uber One subscribers. Or Amazon Prime, where members spent an average of $US1400 on Amazon compared to US$600 for non-members.
💡Number two: they give businesses super valuable data about purchasing habits. Imagine watching Finding Nemo, then being sent a voucher for the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland... or a discount on a Dory plushie! TBH it sounds like a good idea... but we’ll have to wait and see if Disney goes ahead with it.
