Tesla and Ford have announced a new collaboration for EV chargers.
👉 Background: Ford has always been a big player in the automotive industry. But it’s fair to say that Ford is still well behind Tesla in its EV capacity. Get this: Ford sold just over 60,000 EV’s in 2022, compared to Tesla’s 1.3 million EV’ssold.
👉 What happened: But now, Tesla and Ford have announced a new collab. Tesla will make at least 7,500 chargers available by the end of next year to Ford EV’s.
👉 What else: Ford will start to produce EVs with connectors compatible with Tesla Superchargers. And while this is starting in the US and Canada, it’s likely that these standards will become global over the coming years.
💡A rising tide floats all boats. The most common reason that drivers avoid EVs is fear the battery will run out of charge before reaching their destination
(aka range anxiety).
💡 The facts don't lie:
💡By partnering together, Tesla and Ford are potentially setting a new industry standard for charging ports. And with more charging ports available, there is less reason to be anxious about not making the distance.
