Ford is firing 3000 of its white collar employees as a part of the company's transition to EVs.
👉 Background: Ford, the car manufacturer started back in 1903 and pretty much invented the modern approach to assembly line car manufacturing.
👉 What happened: Ford has been through a lot of changes over the years, including when they closed down local production in Australia, and 1200 Aussies lost their jobs. Now it’s more job losses for Ford, this time in the US.
👉 What else: Ford has showed a whopping 3,000 white collar employees the door. These job losses are collateral damage in Ford's transition from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric vehicles.
💡When it comes to electric vehicles, it’s no longer a question of ‘if’, but of ‘when’. These redundancies send a clear message to Ford’s staff, shareholders and competition that its future is electric.
