For the first time ever, KFC's offering chicken nuggets in the US as a part of a plan to attract the Gen Z crowd.
👉 Background: Kentucky Fried Chicken, aka KFC, has been around for 92 years. Fun fact: KFC follows 11 people on Twitter: the five Spice Girls and six people named herb... geddit?
👉 What happened: When you’ve been around for that long you’ve GOTTA keep changing things up to keep people interested. KFC’s now offering chicken nuggets made with their 11 secret herbs and spices in in the US.
👉 What else: It's all part of a plan to attract gen Z customers and keep their loyalty for life.
💡The earlier that a business establishes a relationship with a consumer, the more potential they have to build loyalty. Get this: 77% of consumers say they've stayed loyal to a specific brand for 10 years or more.
💡Brand loyalty builds over time, and young people can sometimes be easier targets because their brand allegiances are yet to be set in stone. Think about it. There are 1.6 million Aussies with youth saver accounts with Commbank - mostly because of the Dollarmites program?
💡 KFC reckons Zoomers will love nuggets because they have a stronger preference for boneless chicken compared to other gens. So the plan is to get em' hooked on the nuggets and then hopefully gain some loyal KFC customers for life.
