The best teams and biggest earners of Formula 1

Need a crash course on the top 5 teams and highest earning drivers of 2026? We got you!

What's the key learning?

  • The Formula 1 race happens both on the track and off the track
  • We reveal the top five F1 teams based on their financial valuation
  • We also reveal the top five F1 drivers based on their individual pay check

In part 1 we unpacked how every Formula 1 team actually makes their money.

But the next obvious question is… who’s winning off the track?

Because while the drivers are battling it out for podiums, the teams themselves are competing in a different race entirely: financial valuation.

And let’s just say… some teams are miles ahead of the pack.

So who are the top five F1 teams based on their financial valuation?

  1. Ferrari - $6.5 billion
  2. Mercedes - $6 billion
  3. McLaren - $4.4 billion
  4. Red Bull - $4.35 billion
  5. Aston Martin - $3 billion

Then of course, we can’t forget about the face of the sport. The ones taking the risks at 300km/h… and collecting some serious paychecks for doing it.

Can you guess who the top five highest paid drivers are?

  1. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) - $70 million
  2. Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) - $60 million
  3. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) - $34 million
  4. George Russell (Mercedes) - $34 million
  5. Lando Norris (McLaren) - $30 million

So there it is! Teams worth billions. Drivers earning tens of millions. Sponsors pouring in global marketing budgets. And cities competing for the chance to host a race weekend.

All of it built around twenty cars going very, very fast.

Did any of these numbers surprise you?
