What's the key learning?

💡Equity crowdfunding allows everyday investors (i.e. me, you, ya mates) to invest in early-stage businesses in exchange for ownership in the business.

💡Normally, it's easy for retail investors to invest in public companies once they're public. It's a lot trickier to get access to early stage private companies. So, equity crowdfunding gives everyone the opportunity to reap those rocket ship startup returns 🚀🚀🚀 (if it succeeds, obvi).

💡It's different to crowdfunding (i.e. Kickstarter campaigns), which is where people just donate to businesses. Often, companies use equity crowdfunding as a tool to raise cash because their new investors become their biggest advocates.
