Woolies is bringing a new string to its HealthyLife-bow by launching a new telehealth platform.
👉 Background: Woolworths Group is the major conglomerate that owns retail giants Woolworths and Big W. They also own a tonne of other businesses, including wellness brand HealthyLife, which launched in 2021.
👉 What happened: But now, Woolies is bringing a new string to its HealthyLife-bow. They've launched a new telehealth platform which lets consumers make same-day virtual appointments with GP’s, dietitians, and naturopaths.
👉 What else: And with the telehealth industry growing so fast since lockdowns, Woolies clearly wants a big, chunky slice of it.
💡 Telehealth, was one of the biggest changes to the Aussie healthcare system during the pandemic. And now, it's well and truly here to stay.
💡In fact, between 2020 and 2022, there were over 100 million telehealth services delivered across Australia. So clearly, the adoption of telehealth has gone through the roof, as well as the level of investment in the digital health sector.
💡 The amount invested in digital health just the first half of 2021 was almost double what was invested in all of 2019. And Woolworths is making sure it gets its slice of the pie.
